Today is Monday, February 26, 2024.
I am becoming comfortable enough here in the Senior Residence where I now live.
There are many nice features here, nice meals, housekeeping, good people on staff and among the residents, and as much activity of many kinds as I would like.
I appreciate that they get me to doctor appointments so I don’t have to be too much of a drag on the kids. And in general it’s working for me.
Unfortunately I live every single day of my life with the pain resulting from the careless words of the retina doctor, Timothy Flood, M.D., then treating me for age-related macular degeneration.
Dr. Timothy Flood told me— with great authority — that I needed those shots in my eye because I was “on Prolia” (the osteoporosis drug I receive by injection twice a year).
I believed him — and I thought I had to make a choice between my eyes and my bones. Deciding I’d be better off lame than blind I skipped a Prolia shot.
The horrific result: several fractured vertebrae!
This happened years ago but I live with the pain EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY LIFE!
Dr. Timothy Flood now enjoys “Emeritus” status.
And I see another retina doctor who seemed shocked when I told him what Timothy Flood (I hate putting the word "doctor' in front of his name) had told me.
Now l live every day of my life with the pain created by those careless, thoughtless words!
